Approx. 7 / 15 planned (depending on chip portion size)

Healthy Extras
  • A: Skimmed milk allowance (coffee)
  • B: 2 x Hi-fi Bars
Satiety Wins 🌟
  • Fruit at breakfast kept me light but satisfied.
  • The noodle bowl was filling and comforting, balanced with protein and vegetables.
  • Dinner is a treat, but removing batter and sharing chips makes it both enjoyable and sensible.
Reflections

I kept my meal balanced and on plan, even at the chip shop: asking for a very small portion of chips, enjoying cod roe without the batter, choosing gherkins and a pickled onion instead of heavier sides. It was satisfying, full of flavour, and guilt-free.

After dinner, I went to the local theatre with a friend to see Jonathan Harvey’s Beautiful Thing. Set in Thamesmead in the 1990s, it’s an urban fairy tale about two teenage boys, Ste and Jamie, who find love and hope amidst hardship on a South London council estate. Their story, supported by the strong, warm hearted Sandra and the sassy neighbour Leah, was both moving and uplifting.

The irony wasn’t lost on me, the theatre was just a stone’s throw from Thamesmead itself, where earlier this week I’d been visiting clients on the very same estate. Seeing the story unfold on stage felt especially poignant, a reminder of the real lives and communities behind both the work I do and the play’s narrative.

A theatre treat was exactly what I needed to reward myself for the victory on the scales this week. A great night out with an old friend was the perfect way to celebrate, a reminder that rewards don’t always have to come from food.

Much like this Slimming World journey, Beautiful Thing shows that with support, encouragement, and resilience, we can grow, change, and find joy in unexpected places.

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13)

🎯 Week Two Intentions
  • Stay consistent: Keep Syns between 10–12 most days for balance.
  • Build on satiety: Prioritise protein, fibre, and Speed foods at every meal.
  • Plan ahead: Use my Food Warehouse Slimming World meals and lunch pots for busy days.
  • Stay inspired: Keep listening to the Slimming World Podcast, my “meeting between meetings.”
  • Celebrate small wins: Acknowledge daily proud-of moments, not just the scale.
